About The Pomegranate Community
Vegan and Animal Advocates Combating Antisemitism in Our Movement

The Pom is a community for Jewish advocates and allies working to restore compassion and safety in our movement.

We support Jews who have faced antisemitism in vegan and animal advocacy spaces, and we work together to confront and prevent that harm across the movement.
Jewish-led. Open to all who choose to stand with us.

Become a seed.

Our Mission
Many Jewish animal and vegan advocates feel unseen, unsafe, or alone. We exist to ensure no one has to choose between their activism and their identity.

The Pomegranate Community is dedicated to building an interconnected global community of Jewish advocates and dedicated allies. Our core purpose is two-fold:
1. To support those navigating exclusion with belonging, clarity, and resources.
2. To combat structural antisemitism within the vegan and animal movement, demanding dignity for Jews and safeguarding the integrity and credibility of our cause.
We are committed to a future where compassion and ethical choices are at the forefront of our food system and of our movement itself.

Why the pomegranate
The pomegranate reminds us that strength lies in collective life.

In Jewish tradition, the pomegranate is said to contain 613 seeds, corresponding to the mitzvot (commandments). For us, the seeds symbolize the diversity of the Jewish experience: each unique, yet all belonging to the same whole, interconnected community.

To join The Pom is to become a seed for change.
Together with our allies, we confront antisemitism and strengthen our shared commitment: a movement for animals that must also be a movement rooted in safety and care for its members.
What we do
Build Community: We connect like-minded individuals through digital events, online discussions, in-person meetings, and resources sharing.
Elevate Jewish Voices: We center the stories and leadership of Jewish activists from diverse backgrounds.

Educate and Inspire: Through thought-provoking articles, social media, and speaker events, we spark conversations and also offer essential resources for movements seeking to understand and dismantle structural antisemitism, ensuring safer and more credible advocacy.
